Q: What will I learn?
A: In the “Live Conversations” course you will be learning fluent, American speech from native speakers. Specifically, you will learn to speak and understand hundreds of natural idioms, slang expressions, and other native-level phrases.
Q: Once I finish a lesson, can I repeat it?
A: Of course. As a member of the “Live Conversations” you will have lifetime access to all the lessons. Also, there is no time limit. You can go at your own pace.
Q: Will I receive DVDs or CDs?
A: No. The course is delivered entirely online, in a password protected members area.
Q: Can I download the course to my computer?
A: You can’t download the entire course, as it is online. However, we do provide hundreds of downloads so that you can practice away from the computer on a portable device.
Q: Will I learn Grammar?
A: The course teaches you to speak and understand real speech by native speakers. You learn to use all of the new words and expressions via pattern recognition. This is the most natural way to learn proper usage. You don’t learn grammar rules, instead you learn to speak and understand naturally.
Q: What are the technical requirements for the course? Browser, internet connection, and so on?
A: Compatible browsers: IE8, IE9, Firefox 3, Firefox 4, Safari 4, Safari 5, Opera, Chrome. NOTE: For the security reasons, we do NOT support the IE6 and IE7 browsers, so please update your browser to the latest version.
Other requirements:
- You will need a fast internet connection…at least ADSL. (Fiber Optic is preferable.)
- Please turn “javascript” on in your browser.
- Please set “accept cookies” in your browser, (otherwise you can’t log in to the membership area).
Q: What about iPads?
A: All videos and audios are compatible to: iPad1 and iPad2.
Q: How does the coaching work?
A: If you have any questions about the material in the course, simply send them to your Fluency Coach. Your coach will be a native speaker of American English, and will respond as soon as possible, usually the same day. (Please try to limit your submissions to five (5) per week.) NOTE: Your thirty days of Fluency Coaching starts from your first submission.
